Hang on to Your Ego
Mike Przygoda is a classical composer, jazz composer and arranger, and rock songwriter. He is a multi-instrumentalist who has played with numerous rock bands, jazz combos, and classical ensembles around the Chicago area. He has written music for chamber ensembles, film scores, dance routines, jazz ensembles, and rock bands. He has just finished recording his debut solo album, 'Hang On To Your Ego' which includes twenty songs he has written over the last few years that range across a variety of styles (rock, blues, funk, jazz, classical). The album features Mike playing almost all of the instruments with some help from Molly Agnew (flute), Tim Borst (trumpet), Rebecca Engstrom (violin), Dan Przygoda (tenor saxophone), KT Somero (clarinet and bass clarinet), and Hannah Trobe (cello). The album was recorded at Moonroom Studios and engineered by Stephen Jansen. Art design was by Katie Bohem. 'Hang On To Your Ego' has been described by listeners as 'Pet Sounds meets Dark Side Of The Moon with a midwestern spin,' 'an artsy song-cycle,' and 'words you can dance to.'
