My Way Is the Highway
Mike Mack: I play music the only way I know---How I feel it. I started at a young age picking lead guitar on a 1964 Strat that my dad bought me for $100. Playing for awhile for numerous bands and clubs it seemed as if there were plenty of guitars on stage, but certain sounds were lacking. My dad (Roy Mack, a long time steel guitar player) told me, "Son, lead players are a dime a dozen, they are everywhere." After hearing this I changed directions and bought my first steel guitar. I took one lesson and decided that was not the way I wanted to play. So, I taught myself to play my music in my own style and feel. I know this is not your traditional steel guitar music. There is a mixture of songs---blues, jazz, rock and country. Thanks to every one who listens, and also like to thank musicians Randall Lee and Mike Wallis (my friends) for their help. Also Galen Anderson---Magic Wand Music--BMI. To anyone who hears and feels my mu sic, I hope you enjoy it. THANKS Sherry Mack Engineer.
