This album is 99% acoustic. Most of it tracked with one or 2 very high quality microphones and no punch in's on any of the basic tracks. I really wanted an organic, honest representation of the work. I Played the guitar, sang the lead vocal and used my porchboard bass all at the same time. Electric guitar was used for the song 'Handyman',and the bass guitar is electric. Alot of research went into some of these stories. I also loved being able to showcase some good ole fashioned footstomping country blues fingerpicking. In an era of highly produced/edited music,I wanted to stick closer to the ground..so to speak. So if you hear some string noise,or a little rasp in a vocal it's because I decided to leave it as it was performed. I used some great guitars to record with that just spoke to me. My martins..d45,d42 and 000-18 a nice old guild and a gibson j-45. For the electric track I used an old gibson sg thru a musicman amp. Well Thanx for looking and I hope you enjoy the music. Peace...Mike.
