Songs of Autumn
It has been a while since Ms. Ende' has release any solo piano work, and this new addition is a welcome one. Mostly sentimental songs conjuring up Autumn skylines in Chicago, these thirteen pieces are a collection of Ms. Ende's memories of Chicago, autumn, lunches in downtown cafes, walks along Diversey harbor, and other contemplative studies, for piano; of what it means to be away from the city you love, the city that birthed you, and gave you everything you are. Ms. Ende's love affair with Chicago has never ended, and although she has not had a chance to return, her love of home is echoed by others far from their homes and in places they would rather not be. We hope the nostalgia in this album touches you and brings you home, if you are not already there, and if you are home, helps you remember what is so entirely special about home. P. Stanislauw for the composer.
