After the disintegration of Guadalajara based rock trio, Disforia, singer/guitarist, Memo Andrés, strives towards a lighter shade in his first solo release, Senderos (EP). Still faithful to his style, a continuous dialogue between his guitar and vocal work, he accomplishes less progressive and more pop oriented compositions. Lyrically light hearted and reflective, the album's overall theme is hope. Senderos, meaning 'pathways', resembles a musical diary that travels across the author's versatile musical capabilities. The mood is set by it's, Soda Stereo's reminiscent, first track, "Tan de Cerca" (so closely), where Andrés courageously sings, "...even though I haven't found what I'm looking for, I follow it so closely that I can touch it." In it's first single, the Police-esque "Sin Hablar", never has he felt so infatuated and at the same time powerless that he finds that by 'saying nothing' he more accurately describes the way he feels.
