ALBUM PROCEEDS go to support her family and music team as Christian missionaries to Utah. Melinda Cottrell Benson, 27 years of age, is a worship leader, singer/ songwriter, and musician whose passion is to inspire her audience to pursue being captured by God through music and worship. Her drive for music ministry shone through her involvement as worship leader where she led hundreds of teen-agers, children, and adults in exciting praise and worship each week in Clermont, Florida. Melinda has been singing in church since she was 4 years old. At the age of 19, she won 1st place for the female vocal solo division at the 2002 Church of God General Assembly International Teen Talent, held at the Indianapolis RCA Dome Stadium. In addition, she was an active member of the large worship choir called Campus Choir of Lee University, where she received many vocal performance honors culminating with being voted by Lee's vocal faculty as the "Best Vocalist of 2005." There, Melinda earned her bachelor's degree in Music Education in December of 2005. While in Cleveland, Tennessee, she had assisted Dr. Steve Holder in recording 2 albums from the Anointed Praise CD/book series. While in school, she had also received the opportunity to glean practical instruction from Babbie Mason's songwriting class and music conferences. Not only that, Melinda had still continued to improve her skills and develop her passion, as she ministered in song through the Westmore Church of God's sanctuary choir and in leadership of it's children's music ministry. From there, she moved on to the Florida public classroom setting, where she continued to inspire children to reach for the stars through the power of music and creative performance for 4 years. Currently, she is teaming up with a band to lead worship for their church plant out west, in the Salt Lake valley, where the opportunity for the spreading of the gospel is almost endless!
