Flute players often speak of their flute playing experience in terms of a journey. My own flute journey began with a small wooden recorder purchased many years ago at an open air market in Spain, and continued much later with the desire to make an instrument of my own. It was then that I discovered Native American Flutes and began crafting them in my shop. Since those days I have made a few hundred flutes or so. The journey has taken many paths and many people have helped, guided, and encouraged me along the way. I would especially like to thank my family for their help and support, and the Greensky Hill community for their encouragement and the many opportunities to grow as a person and a flute player. This recording represents the latest stop on what has been for me, a journey of love, liberation, and connection with the Sacred. I hope you will experience the music in that spirit. Matt Koontz.
