If you have heard any music by Marcus Singletary, you know that this self-titled CD is not his first album. However, it might as well be, because it is his best release yet. Cut at Clear Lake Audio, where No Doubt recorded 'Tragic Kingdom,' the disc was mixed by Don Casale, engineer of 'In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida.' 'This CD is too good to sit on the shelf,' Casale says. Songs like 'Start Something,' 'Love is the Answer,' and 'Shake the Ceiling' prove that this artist has staying power. Singletary's first album of new material in three years ('Live at the Foxx' and the 'Rocks' compilation were released in the interim), this disc is worth a listen if you enjoy classic rock.
