Most of this work has been inspired by social issues, in memory of an event or a place where a moment has produced a sound and transformed it into an inspiration for composition. Both the musicians who took part in this new project and the sound of their instruments have given me the opportunity to obtain a harmony of sound which sent me back to the sensations which leading to my compositions. Uptown and the Bronx: My inspiration came from the New York subway line during a trip to "The Big Apple" in 2001, shortly after the Twin Towers came down. Djemaa: The main square of Marrakesh is a symbolic place in my mind, a place of meeting and dialogue between two different cultures and religions. Walking In Alta de San Pedro: From one of my frequent trips to Barcellona, a glance towards Alta de San Pedro, where one of the most beautiful theatres in the world is: the Palau della Musica Catalana.Because art and beauty enrich the world. Nexus 6: A contemporary translation of the Latin "nexus", in honour of Connection between peoples, thanks to international media and web communication. My Love In Your Hands: In homage to music and all the arts which inspire, guide and enrich my artistic life (and not only). Una Notte a Kabul: Dedicated to all the victims of war, in the hope that sooner or later they will by redeemed in a world where peace is possible. Elogio dell'Imperfezione: Inspired by the reading of an essay about the life of Tina Modotti written by the great Pino Bertelli reminding us that imperfection is sometimes also perfection. Resolution: The first time I listened to this tune I was literally struck by it's sensitivity and spirituality. I think that in this track Coltrane soundly wanted to change. Secret World: Every world hides intriguing secrets, and our curiosity should never end. Everyone of us has the opportunity to better the world, without getting tired of trying.
