From Then Til Now #1
Mandy Strobel, born in 1949 in Ulm, was inspired at the age of 8 when he heard music from US soldier's stationed near his home in Ulm. With a little help from his American step-dad he learned how to play the guitar. Mandy's first public gig was in a US officer's Club. After that he played with young American soldiers in several hobby bands. In 1985 he founded his first band "Mandy's East-Place-Company", where he covered songs by Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard. He finally found his own style in 1994, which is present on his first CD. On his second Album "On the other side" Mandy got help from many famous people, like Brent Moyer, Joe Sun, Becky Hobbs and Joel Sonnier. With his current Album "The way I feel" Mandy Strobel is "back to the roots"; much of which was recorded in the legendary Sun-Studio with just Mandy and his guitar.
