Gary Pane acquired his first guitar at age 10 and formal guitar lessons started. He began learning covers by the Beatles, Byrds, The Animals and Clapton. But folk artists like Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Kingston Trio, and Peter, Paul and Mary made the greatest impression on him. Songwriting never came easy to Gary until he began swimming with the manatees in the pristine Gulf waters of Florida in the 1980's. So moved by the sheer size and gentleness of these wonderful animals his songs began to pour out. His wonderful manatee songs range from heartfelt to zany and take you on a fun, wonderful musical tour! Manatee Mania is the culmination of a 12-year project involving 3 music studios in Spring Hill, Florida. Gary Pane wrote the words and music to all the songs; but the talented musicians on this album are what make it outstanding! Superior keyboard arrangements by Joe Porto and David Haney, top pro guitar work by John Leavell and Corey Rubin and vocals by John Monahan, Darlene Pane, Yolanda Martinez and especially award winning USO performer Susie Porto add depth style and originality to each song! These artists had as much fun making the album as you will hearing it!
