Playing for Aliens
Everyone knows that Majik Trolz created the universe. But don't take our word for it, listen to the song Majik Trolz for proof. Somewhere between God and Darwin on the credibility scale sits the Majik Trolz. In their first album 'Playing for Aliens' the Majik Trolz take the listener through a musical journey. This is a full acoustic sound that stretches the musical genre boundaries. It could be blues but no it's rock, but not really, maybe country, certainly the music has it's roots in the country - Dobro slide guitar and rhythm guitar mixed with harmonica or just occasionally a lead guitar. An acoustic experience (sorry Jimi Hendrix). Majik Trolz list their influences as Union Station, Talking Heads, Stevie Wonder and Weird Al Yankovich. The invariably cutting and often cynical lyrics are guaranteed to put a lot of noses out of joint. Relax and laugh at yourself as we laugh at us (and U.S.). Is nothing sacred? Whether the topic is nuclear power, war, oil, water, medicine, religion or indigenous rights, you can be sure that the Majik Trolz will have a twist on it.
