Only having jammed together for seven months at the time of it's release, 'desperate island' leaves one with the impression of a band settled into familiar territory, though only 'visiting' for a short while. Joel Madigan and Andrew Sledd of the legendary groove-rock indie band, Two Girls, carry on in somewhat of the same spirit whilst certainly trekking upon new terrain. A new rainbow-dyed SG brings to mind the psychedelic explosion of the 60's, while monstrous-sized drums transport one to the evolved audio recordings of the 70's. A unique conglomeration of entertaining song-writing and improvisation proved to fuse the two worlds of pre-meditation and immediacy. A penchant for poetry, unique chord progressions, the mystical sound of 60's psych and folk and old-fashioned blues rock deem this inaugural release a benchmark of great things to come.
