Liz Yacoubian has been performing since her college days --everything from pop, rock, folk and finally jazz. She accompanies herself on guitar and piano. In 1990, after a world-wind year in New York City in graduate school, she returned to California and began songwriting in earnest. The songs came and it became apparent that there was a common thread or theme moving through them. What gives us freedom? What takes it away? Her songs were used in 1996 in a youth musical revue sponsored by a non-profit organization, called 'Freedom Dance'. Since that time she had added to the material and created 'Freedom's Dance'. Liz has always loved both music and dance. In the title cut, she compares freedom to a dance we all do all our lives (it's got a gospel feel). Liz gives this music out to the world with the sincerest wish that it will provide fun, entertainment, and inspiration to hundreds or thousands of people.
