Les Ingenues jazz quartet came together as a collaboration of some very different musicians. This first album was recorded in 2006. Lisa Broderick plays on tenor sax ..... Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Lisa Broderick began playing saxophone at the age of 6. She played intermittently throughout high school until attending and graduating from Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. After earning her Masters in Business from Duke University Fuqua School, she worked in business for15 years. Lisa recently began performing again after a many-year absence. Lisa is a melodic performer who yearns to sing through her instrument. She and Roy Assaf recently played together in May, 2005 with the Wes Anderson Trio at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola located at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Roy Assaf plays on piano. Roy is a native of Tel Aviv who began his formal classical training at the Tel Aviv Conservatory at the age of 8. He moved to New York in 2006 to study at The Manhattan School of Music. A pianist with dazzling technique and a composer who expertly weaves jazz harmonies, Roy was named the ASCAP Foundation's Young Jazz Composer in 2008. He made his New York Blue Note debut with the Dizzy Gillespie All Star Big Band in 2007, followed by a European tour consisting of 13 cities. Roy is currently also part of the John Lee Quartet, Charlie Christenson Quartet, Alex Terrier Quartet, Chris Dempsey Quartet and Roy Assaf & Eddy Khaimovich Project. Nick Falk plays on drums. Nick Falk is from Portland, Maine and graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in performance. He has studied with Bob Gulloti, Jamey Haddad, Dave Samuels, Ian Froman, and Hal Crook. He has performed with George Garzone, Hal Crook, John Lockwood, Frank Tiberi, Vardan Ovespian, Eli Digibri, and has performed all over the world, including Equador, Japan, Korea, and Portugal. He has also performed in venues such as the Blue Note New York and at the Monterey Jazz Festival in California.
