Young and Fresh, yet classic and unforgettable. At 15 years of age, Lauren Bonnell is ready for the big time and feeling "Weightless". With her soon to be released debut album, this BMI singer/songwriter has the catchy pop hooks laced with the rock feel and emotionally-driven lyrics, which gives a breath of fresh air to the current music scene. Lauren was a cut above the rest from the get-go. After seeing Miley Cyrus perform, the music bug took hold. Singing became her new passion and she performed at various events. Yet, it was after taking guitar lessons for only a short period of time, she acquired enough musical sense to start writing her own material. And from there, her debut CD "Weightless" was conceived. "Weightless" is an epic journey of songs ranging from relationships to losing someone close to you. Produced by Chris Matty and Mastered by Justin Shturzt (Paramore, Maroon 5) of Sterling Sound, you can hear the Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus injected influences with a dose of Avril Lavigne rock flair. Each one of her songs conjures tasty musical treats and stunning lyrically visual images. The up-tempo leadoff single "I'm Not Alone" has Lauren singing about getting into a relationship and not feeling alone. And a few songs later "I Won't Let You Go" shows her maturity in lyrics and songwriting, having you swear the song belongs in a movie. One of her first songs ever written, "No Goodbye's" is the album's last studio track, written as a tribute to her grandmother who passed away when she was only 6 years old. Her current influences of singer/songwriters Taylor and Miley helped shape her distinctive sound, and showed her the importance of not just being labeled as a singer, but someone who can also write "great, everlasting" songs. Lauren continues to prepare herself for the musical journey she has in front of her. With more writing, putting her band together, and readying herself for shows both big and small, Lauren demonstrates the drive, passion and enthusiasm it takes to succeed in the music industry.
