Prepare your mind for a musical journey. We want you to join us on the experimental flight across the cosmos that is Kosmik Karma. When the ideas that became Karmageddon were formulated, there was no pattern or style in particular, just a fluid movement of thought from one feeling to the next. The only rule is, there are no rules. You will taste many flavors in the recipe; funk, rock, pop, rhythm & blues, techo, reggae, dance, soul and something we like to call...heavymellow. Whatever fits the mood, whatever makes the feeling. A wide variety of instrumentation creates the pallets of color where voices lay out the lines of contrast. We hope you enjoy the experience that we have brought to share with you, because the most important thing about music is to have fun. Merky Water and Rich Richardson have co-written songs of all kinds for years, but there was something special about the music that became Karmageddon. It was not just the songs, but all of the bandmembers...the chemistry of love and personalities, that brought Kosmik Karma ~ Karmageddon, to life. Kym Kosmik breathes emotional tones into each song, ranging from smooth and seductive to exploding into a powerful and commanding presence. Kym's hyponotic beauty, along with her soulful and heartfelt range make every part something truly special to behold. Merky Water projects a rich and warm tone that creates a unique vocal evolution giving each one their own distinctive quality. When you hear a soulful lead saxophone, you will know what makes Paul Conroy's contributions invaluable. The hair-raising synthesizer solo on "In Yo Mind" is another product of Paul's mad genius. It is a rhythm dream come true to have Randy St John on drums, percussion and congas. Rich and Merky trade off on a wide variety of instruments - whatever the occasion calls for - six and twelve string acoustic and electric guitars of many types, keyboard sounds of all varieties and percussion parts, with Merky Water playing the lead guitar parts you will hear and Rich Richardson playing the bass guitars, mandolins and piano. Produced and engineered by Water and Richardson, each player brought their own unique skill set to bear. What does it sound like? Good question....we love music from every era, but we love timeless songs. In other words, you always have to listen, whether it's the first time or the thousandth time. We love bands that have great players, interesting words and melodies....songs that grab you and won't let you go. When we get inspired, it becomes feeling that converts to emotion. We appreciate great music from all styles and eras. No matter where it begins, it always becomes truly Kosmik Karma, an emotion that reveals something of our own. From timeless wonders of the past like Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan & Rufus, Sly and The Family Stone to other flavors like Buckingham Nicks, The Eagles, Depeche Mode, The Prodigy and to the more recent stylings of The Black Eyed Peas, Kelis, Living Colour, Christina Aguilera and Rihanna. There are so many different flavors that you may sense a taste, yet it is a totally original recipe all it's own. So we invite you to join us on this first leg of an interstellar journey, to find a place where music can still be timeless and yet timely, with classic beauty as well as up to the minute style.
