Keyenta is the musical project of singer songwriter Steve Guyette. The first Keyenta album 'ENTITLED' was released in 2005, followed by a 5 song EP called 'ELECTRONIFIED' in 2009, and the 2011 release 'THIRTY EIGHT'. -Performing in Portland since 2004, local venues include the Ash Street Saloon, The Korner Pocket, Paola's at the Aladdin, Mt. Tabor Theater, Independence Music Hall, The Jade Lounge, and The White Eagle. -Previous performances include Kulak's Woodshed; Los Angeles, Unurban Cafe; Santa Monica, Pig n' Whistle; Hollywood. -Radio airplay on KPSU, Oregon; KVWE Gap West Broadcasting, Montana. All of Keyenta's albums have been entirely self-produced in a 12' X 12' apartment bedroom packed with drums, amps, guitars, mic's, and an antique Hammond organ from Goodwill - smack dab in the center of Industrial Southeast Portland with blankets and plywood scraps covering the window and walls from the ongoing everyday sounds of power saws, cement trucks, grinders, freight trains, and even worker strikes.
