Blood & Passion
Blood and Passion, upbeat "rockin'-roots-blues-roll" from Baltimore-area singer-songwriter Kevin Driscoll, is an all-original collection combining the best of rock and Americana. Chosen from several years of writing and a lifetime of experience, Kevin's songs tell of love found after years of failure and what was thought to be love. They tell of idols and idiots. They tell of soul mates found from the fire and destruction of the twin towers. They tell of soul mates found from internet mistakes. They tell of circus acts made from seemingly honest people. They tell of something for which we are all looking. Blood and Passion includes Kevin's guitar and vocals, as well as some smokin' playing by veteran local musicians. Mark Giuliano's keyboards add unparalleled texture and coloring to the recording as he rips a blistering solo and woos you with a tickle at the same time. Geoff Burrell is one of the premier drummers in the Baltimore/Washington area. You won't find a more solid player with more heart and ability anywhere. Tom Johnson brings exceptionally solid and fluid bass playing. Tom picks it up and lays it down like nobody's business. Rob Kilgore lends his wonderful talent on mandolin on a couple of cuts, Erik Marks plays stand-up bass, and Mike Miller blows some harp. And the album is produced and engineered by Philip Stevenson at Scary Clown Studios. Philip has the ability to bring the best out of players and make additions that fit perfectly into the mood and meaning of any song. This recording wouldn't be as fine as it is without Philip's influence. This debut CD at last brings Kevin Driscoll's good-time enthusiasm and heartfelt original songs to a wider audience.
