Talk My Language
Talk My Language is island rock at it's best. With material written all over the world it brings an island perspective to subjects like Iraq and apartheid. TML has been applauded for returning the rock to the island. Songs written in Portugal, South Africa, St. Thomas, Arizona, Alaska, as well as Hawaii show a wider scope of thought with tropical beats. The musicianship is superb with 2 Grammy Award winning guitar players. Randy Lorenzo who's resume includes; Country Comfort, Gabby Pahinui, C&K, The Peter Moon Band not only played bass and lead guitar but was an associate producer. His wide perspective on Hawaiian music helped raise the bar for others in the genre. Charles Michael Brotman who produced the first Hawaiian Music Grammy winner adds the beauty of the classical guitar to both Lessons and Rock Solid. Recorded in his Lava Tracks Studio and Associate Produced as well, Charles is all over this project. Garin Poliahu is the consummate drummer in the Hawaiian rock scene. Having backed up everyone from Kalapana to Henry Kapono he adds a solid rock beat to the material as well an effect on the arrangements. Brian Reed's harmonica playing has been described as the spirit of Little Walter with the grace of Lee Oscar and rounded out the sound like a Hula Hoop. Background from some of The Big Islands best artists, Maggie Lobo (The Voggy Mountain Ramblers), Scott and Roz Nelson of Ho'oku St Band and Redd make this an island wide effort. So bring the rock back to your island with Talk My Language. Aloha.
