Kathleen Glover and Charlene Beck each came to Boston, MA in 2004 for their work as Christian Science nurses. Kathy relocated from her home in Dallas, Texas and Char came to the U.S. from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. For the past four years, they have delighted audiences with their upbeat contemporary renditions of sacred songs and hymns. Kathy and Char first began singing together to bring comfort and healing to patients and their families. This outreach grew to include events around Boston, in Maine and in Victoria, B.C. Requests for a recording moved them to produce this CD. Kathy learned to play folk guitar at an early age and studied classical guitar. She majored in vocal performance her freshman year at North Texas University before transferring to Principia College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater. Following college she began training to become a Christian Science nurse and continued to express her love of music and church through soloing. Kathy recalls her parents commenting that what better talent to have as a Christian Science nurse than to be able to sing to patients in their hour of need; she has found this to be a great "skill in comfort's art". (A.E. Hamilton) Char grew up in a family that loved to sing and harmonize together. She studied classical piano with the Toronto Conservatory of Music from a young age and later took up folk guitar, performing folk music at community events. Later, while studying voice at the Victoria Conservatory of Music, she co-founded "Kindred Spirits", a folk-singing duo, which traced Canadian history through song and performed in Canadian schools, with Elderhostel International, and at community events. Kindred Spirits recorded two CD's - "Canadian Harmony" ('95) and "Canadian, eh?" ('04). Throughout her Christian Science nursing ministry, she has seen music reach the heart and bring joy, light and healing. David Sand, a talented guitarist and composer, backs Kathy and Char on a number of pieces as well as playing lead guitar on his own compositions, "More Precious" and "Praise the Lord". In 2006, David released "Coat of Many Colors," - a CD collection of original songs based on Bible characters.
