Miss Empty Pockets
Her first love since childhood, Kathleen Widlund has sung pop, rock, country, jazz and church music since the days of Bobbie's and B&B's. She has since put pen to paper and has herself been shocked by all she has to say. Stories of childhood, motherhood, dog-loverhood and life in general are honest, bare and optimistic. Tunes are acoustic guitar-driven and dabble with styles from World (Shades of Gray) to jazz-pop (Miss Empty Pockets) to country (Cowgirl Lullabye), but always circle back to the 70's singer-songwriter sound near and dear to the composer's heart. Backed by Dan Perry on guitar and vocals; Mark Durkin on bass; and Ernie LaViollette on drums, these gentlemen are the finest of the Minneapolis music scene. Miss Empty Pockets is fresh and honest music.
