Dr. Karen Fanta Zumbrunn, a.k.a.' Dr Jazz'-piano-with degrees from Ohio State University, Harvard and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Bekerley, she has always been a working jazz musician. She performed at the Blue Note in Paris with well-known European and American musicians,(including Kenny Clarke, Herb Geller, Don Byas, others) and recorded with the 'International Stars of Jazz' in Rome (a date that included Klaus Doldinger and Albert Manglesdorf). Selected by the Home News as a 'Distinguished Artist,' Karen also appeared at the Women's Jazz Festival. While teaching college music she performs widely in the greater New York-New Jersey area.
