Kanaga is a three piece acoustic rock band from the Oklahoma City area. Their style ranges from Dave Matthews and Jason Mraz to Johnny Cash and even hip hop. Kanaga performs one, two, or three man shows depending on what the occasion calls for; and currently have four hours of music in the playlist. They play clubs, restaurants, festivals, corporate events, private functions, and everything in between. Kanaga loves what they do and always aim to bring the audience a great time with an upbeat music atmosphere. Kanaga was created by Rocky Kanaga early 2005. Originally, Rocky formed the band under the name of "The Sober Boaters" in early 2000. He began to pick up recognition through original acoustic spins and hand percussive beats on well established songs. Once locked into the listener's attention, he would slide his own originals into the set and provide comfort while listening to something new. In 2005, Rocky added drummer Mike Guiles in the lineup. Kanaga was formed and continued with an original onslaught of acoustic rock / pop music. Eventually in 2008 Mike Triplett was added to the lineup. Kanaga is a collaboration of many styles of music and many lessons from early childhood bands. You will be able to catch the DMB roots or maybe a hint of well known acoustic players. But there is a darkness and an edge that was manifested somewhere in the writing process giving Kanaga's originals a sound of their own. This album is a collection of hard work and dedication to the artistry that we love so much. Check it out!
