Might Nor Power EP
The album 'Might nor Power' includes two original songs written by Kalyn Robinson. Both were recorded in one day at the Harbor House Studios in Keller, Texas. Kalyn sang all lead and background vocals, as well as played all the instruments: acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums and percussion (djembe). "Just Me," an acoustic track, was recorded in one take, with 15 minutes left in the recording session. Though it was "squeezed in," Kalyn feels that this song is very significant. The story of the song 'Just Me' : I love to worship. One day I had my guitar and was just in my house, with no other people around, singing to the Lord and worshiping. I started playing these chords that were really beautiful. One of the chords was even new to me. But as I played them, I knew there were awesome, powerful lyrics that went with this music. I asked the Holy Spirit to please show me what those lyrics were, and I kept worshiping. A couple of days later I was worshiping and playing the same chord progression. Suddenly, I remembered the time I gave my life to Jesus, when I was filled with a fire like I'd never felt before. It was so vivid, like I was there again. I saw myself on my knees at the Acquire the Fire conference, and I saw the other teens on their knees around me. I saw Jesus walking among the teens, and I could tell he was absolutely pumped and excited. He had a huge smile on his face. Suddenly I realized that at that moment, I didn't know how to 'pray right,' I didn't know how to be a 'good Christian,' but God just wanted me. At that moment, He didn't want anything I could do or bring to him, he just wanted to know me. It is all about relationship. This song is about the Father's heart towards His kids. In that "First Love" experience I had, the words of this song just poured out--it was so easy, the lyrics were just there. God wants relationship with us, and He gave everything in his Son, Jesus, just so we could know him. One of my favorite lines from the song is 'You first loved me, now my First Love is You.' God loved us first, so that we could have the pleasure and honor of knowing and loving Him. I want to know Jesus. Thanks, Kalyn Robinson 'You first loved me, now my First Love is You.'
