TheatreWorks offers Ms. Goryuchkina's original compositions, which combine the elements of jazz, classical, and ambient music. The album features performances by Todd Brunel (clarinet, soprano saxophone), Alexis Gavras and John Baboian (acoustic guitar), Scott Barnum (bass) and Scott Goulding (drums and percussion). The live instruments are combined with Midi sounds and create soundscapes reminiscent of a film score or theater music. The CD was recorded at Notable Productions, Watertown, Massachusetts under the expert guidance of Dan Cantor, well-known producer, engineer and performer. It was mixed and mastered by Guilherme M. Vaz, a gifted engineer of Estúdio Soma, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The cover art for the TheatreWorks is created by the talented graphic designer, Adam Katz of Atomik Design. Notorious performance artist and photographer, Milan Kohout, designed a special picture for the album cover. Julia Goryuchkina is a pianist, composer, and film scholar from St.Petersburg, Russia. She is a faculty at Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts where she lectures in cinema and film music.
