Judy Woodall and Muletrain are the Real Thing. Not too much Polish. And that's a good thing. The sound comes out as country-sounding, but that's not a genre-thing. That's because it comes from the country. Deep in it - the mountains of it - mountains of layers of dirt washin' over it all. There are fiddles, and mandolins, and electric guitars, and trumpets, and harmony singers, and accordians. There is gospel, and jazz, and old-timey sounding country, and very modern sounding songs. So don't generalize here. It's just music, made from the soul and burnt down. Trampled and stamped.
