How to Get Rich Slow EP
John Zedd grew up living on a lake in Virginia, and 'Lost Lake' was the center of his childhood. He used to love taking the row boat out in the middle of the night. He'd float in the center of the lake and check out the constellations and the light reflecting from the houses along the shore. His sweet, heartfelt tunes are his way of getting back to that quiet place where everything made sense. John started out playing guitar for change on the streets of Ann Arbor, Michigan. With the 'The Kroks', he was able to tour the world, singing in Seoul, Tokyo, Cairo, and Paris. At one point, he serenaded Glenn Close at the Hasty Pudding Awards. Musically, John's ambition is to write about universal things in an original and complex way, using counter-melodies, harmonies and non-standard arrangements. When he's not writing songs, John loves running, backpacking in the Georgia mountains, and sitting on the porch singing with friends. Besides spending time with his wife and daughters, John's favorite things include: pick-up basketball, his handmade Goodall guitar, and Astral Weeks by Van Morrisson.
