Midnight in Manhattan
This is my second CD, the first being 'Indigo Moon', and all of it is 'Ad-Lib': I sit at the piano, get an idea, then start the recorder. It's fun and I've been doing it for years and I'm hoping you like what you hear! Below is the stuff I wrote on 'Indigo Moon': I started writing music in Elementary school (it wasn't the greatest stuff anyone had ever heard) but I kept plugging away at it and in my teens started playing classical piano. After earning a degree in music at Florida State University I enlisted in the army, then spent a number of years after that working as a professional actor/singer in and out of NYC. Eventually I moved back to Miami and began working for Dade County Fire Rescue and recently retired as Paramedic-Lieutentant. During that time I met my beautiful wife Jocelyn in church and we have twin daughters who are in college. My career in Fire/Rescue was exciting and dangerous and actually helped me as a composer. The stress I faced was both physical and emotional, and in seeking ways to ease the tension I would often sit down at the piano and just start playing. What I discovered was an ability to play 'off the top of my head' and create what are mostly quiet, gentle piano pieces. I began recording these songs and started giving out CD's to friends and relatives, some of whom suggested that I 'Try marketing your music!' Well, that's what I've done with the help of one of daughters, who is studying graphic design. If you like what you hear please let me know! Thanks for visiting my site! Thanks again for listening!
