Jim Shafer has been creating original music since the early 90's. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, he became involved in music and theater including singing the lead role in a stage adaption of Pink Floyds The Wall. While in college, he fronted the rock band Fear of Fate. The band grew a steady following and became one of the highest scored bands in BAM Magazines Battle of the Bands competition. After the dissolve of 'Fate', Jim went on to create the soundtracks for films 'A Single Wish, Third World California and Irene'. Halloween Screams, his first standalone release of original material, finds Jim dabbling in the realm of scary sound effects and dark foreboding moods. 'Halloween has always been my favorite time of year' Shafer said. 'I wanted to create an experience for the listener that followed a story line, not just a standard Halloween Soundtrack of rattling chains and groans. My goal is to immerse the listener in the scene and scare the heck out of some trick-or-treaters!' Jim has also included the original songs 'Still Life' and 'Getting Spooky' as bonus tracks to the release. 'Still Life was written for a film about a serial killer to be used in the closing credit sequence. The rockabilly song 'Getting Spooky' was written for a Halloween show I performed in. It is a fun romp of a song that would make a great addition to anyone's Halloween party playlist.' Jim is currently in the studio working on his next projects. One in the works is a wide variety of instrumental tracks. The second project focuses on his material written primarily for piano and voice. 'I hope everyone enjoys the Halloween CD. I had a lot of fun putting it together. I am ready to show the world some of the other material I have been working on so please keep an eye out." Shafer said.
