The songs on Madeleine Bay are inspired by travels, not by car, but under sail, paddle, and by foot. Jim Krause composes lovely fingerstyle melodies. The infusion of cellist Anne Hurley creates a beautiful, unique and expansive combination of texture and style. Jim Krause and Anne Hurley began their musical journey separated by hundreds of miles and youthful lives. They first met as music students in Bloomington, Indiana. Jim composed music and played violin, mandolin and guitar. Anne was a master cello student, Years after the joyful discovery that they loved one another, they began to explore charted waters and mountain trails, and translated their wonder and gratitude for the natural world into original tunes that weave classical themes with the rich tapestry of folk traditions and indigenous music.
