As a keyboard-composer many different musical styles fascinate and interest me: jazz with all it's influences, classical orchestral music and smooth piano as a solo. It is often said about my music that it is filled with emotions, imagery and inspiring. Alpha, my first CD, is an instrumental mix of all of the above. After making a lot of music for others, I now have the pleasure of making music for myself. The first 7 musical pieces have a jazz base and are complimented by rock, funk, pop, fusion and smooth jazz. All instruments are played by keyboard. The last 3 pieces are smooth and interpreted on piano only. 1) What's up: A glimpse of smooth-jazz depicting the joy of life. 2) Pure Heart: Jazz-pop. Full of energy, with a rhythmical "hip-hop" side. 3) Pat-turn 54: Jazz-fusion. A play of words in a tribute to Pat Metheny, one of my major musical influences. 4) Alpha: Progressive Jazz. The title piece of this album. Alpha, the first letter in the Greek alphabet, represent here the theme of the creation according to Genesis 1. It suggests magnificent images of God's creation and the origin of all things. It also represents the beginning of my musical debut as an independent distributer by internet. 5) The Fall: Jazz-rock. This musical piece illustrates the fall of man according to Genesis 3. 6) I believe: Jazz-pop-fusion. I believe in love, respect and in a superior being as the source of love. For me, believing is indispensable and fundamental. 7) Cyberfunk: Jazz-funk. A musical 'voyage' that I really enjoyed. 8) Ginette's own: Smooth piano solo. A tribute to the woman of my life. At the start this piece was an improvisation. 9) Breeze from heaven: Smooth piano solo. A soft breeze of love from up above. 10) Birth: Smooth piano solo. The miracle of life.
