No Alibi for Alice
" The delivery is exemplary through out........the stand out feature is Price's voice itself. It displays something which seems so rare among the modern crop of vocalists, a real depth and richness to her tone." R2 Rock 'N Reel Magazine * * * * " Her capability to sing in control while flowing emotion through to her listeners is exceptional. " Maverick Magazine " Jemima Price and writing partner, guitarist Mirek Latosek, run you through a number of emotions and back again. 'No Alibi For Alice' is in places a brutally honest album ." Fatea Magazine & Records " Class ." The Musician (MU) " I love the chilled out sound of this album and Jemima's got a cracking voice ." Mark Carter BBC South With music described as "A self-assured collection of what, we'll dub ' Celtic Country': good old-fashioned songs with a strong Americana touch, but with tinges of fiddle and squeezebox, that evoke the Celtic tiger more than the mountain lion ", English singer-songwriter Jemima Price and Polish writer and guitarist Mirek Latosek have collaborated to produce a impressive and sophisticated debut album. From the captivating and lyrical beauty of 'Whatever You Like', to the excitable and gritty blues of title track 'No Alibi For Alice', an expressive journey unravels threads of country, folk, jazz & blues where Jemima's distinctive vocals echo a Kate Bush-like quality. Culminating in the dramatic Brown Land & Dust which draws on two poems from an anthology of WW11 Airforce poetry, the album provides a listening experience that is inspiring yet gently under-pinned with a subtle melancholy and nostalgia. It was co-produced by Jemima & Mirek along with Martin Smith; whose career as a producer, musician and writer has spanned the previous two decades including a term in the ELO. Bass legend Herbie Flowers and renowned Pedal Steel player BJ Cole also feature.
