Jeanne Scherkenbach is that rare soprano who is at home performing everything from Puccini, Verdi and Wagner to Jerry Herman, Richard Rodgers and Stephen Sondheim and has graced musical stages ranging from intimate cabaret to the grandest of Grand Opera. Jeanne began her career as a member of the chorus of New York's renowned Metropolitan Opera and has spent the last fifteen years as a member of the core-chorus at Lyric Opera of Chicago. On the opera stage she has performed such diverse roles as Liu in 'Turandot', Mimi in 'La Boheme', and the title role in Marc Blitzstein's 'Regina.' No stranger to smaller venues Jeanne has produced and performed concerts on nearly every cabaret stage in the Chicago area as a member of Chicago Cabaret Professionals. Her one-woman shows 'Kate the Great-A Tribute to Kate Smith' opened to multiple standing ovations at Chicago's famed Maxim's while 'Treasures from My Trunk' was named one of "Chicago's Top Ten Cabaret Shows of the Year" on Cabaret Hotline. Jeanne also performed with Chicago jazz legend, the late Buddy Charles, in 'Cheerful Little Earful, the Music of Harry Warren.'
