Daughter of the Prairie
This CD is a compilation of two wonderful CDs. 'Prairie Flowers' was the 1998 Album of the Year with the Academy of Western Artists and has been a favorite of many folks over the eyars. 'Range Romance' has great appeal for special occasions such as western weddings with 'Daughter of the Prairie' and 'Dancing on Daddy's Boots', a great waltz for the father and daughter dance! The original CD also includes accompaniment tracks and lyrics for those of you who enjoy singing for special occasions. It is still available at my website. This album is dedicated to the women whose courage, strength and determination helped bring warmth and laughter to the heart of the West. Others who followed often found curtains on the windows of sod houses and a welcoming smile at the door. By purchasing this recording you are supporting the western way of life and insuring that the stories told herein are not forgotten or lost in today's fast moving lifestyle. Thank you for joining me in the quest to keep the West alive! Jean Prescott In addition to her amazing talent as a singer, Jean is a songwriter and historian whose passion for the West is reflected in the material she records. This recording pays tribute to an often overlooked American treasure: the women of the great American West, who often with and sometimes apart from her male counterpart, contributed to the legends and truths which have become America's most enduring romance. Who can better tell her story than one of her own? (Written by Richard E.
