In the summer of 2009, I emerged from my Oakland hermitage to make a record of songs. Golden Gram (Rogue Wave, Port O'Brien) was the engineer and producer. I also had some old friends play on it: Nathaniel Brenner (Tune-yards, Beep) ; Aaron Morgan (The Finches, Roots of Orchis) ; Ryan Stively (Port O'Brien, Ryan Stively & His Poison Band) & others. In Oakland, I live by the lake. I like to walk alongside it, and on my solitary walks, the wind rushes past my ears and the birds call as they fly past. Sometimes I sing along. Some of the songs I've learned from listening to the wind and the birds are on this record. Other songs are blurry snapshots of experiences I've had with sweet, beautiful people. My music is really personal, so please be gentle.
