Product notities

The Perfect Life is a project that James had complete artistic control of. With his choice of Nashville pickers, and the same engineer that poured his talents into works for The Judds, later Wynona, and Kenny Rodgers recent projects James crafted a body of work that any Nashville recording artist would be proud to put their name on. The song selection on this project was extremely thorough. James dug through his catalog of music pulling out tried and true classics; he sat down and wrote new material, listened to demos from other writers and wrote with other Nashville tune-smiths. Ultimately, he selected a variety of songs demonstrating both range and personality. The Perfect Life, was the perfect choice for the title cut of this album. A song about small towns and simple people has been the backdrop of many country music songs. Semi-biographical, this song speaks to where James has come from and where he is -- if asked he'd say his life is pretty darn perfect. Leavin' Louisiana, is a power ballad that shows how a man in love is willing to do anything, even leave the state, to put distance between a failing relationship. Sacrificing his personal feelings the man leaves behind a letter and just one wish...that he'll be missed when he's gone. Ya Mess With The Bull, is a Texas swing that is sure to get the crowd roaring. Penned with a local writer this satire takes a humorous look at a failed relationship. As the song goes ...'remember my words of wisdom as your leavin'. Ya mess with the bull, ya gonna get the horns!' Ohio Feels Like Texas Tonight, is a song that was inspired while James was driving through Ohio on the ways to a show. That strip of blacktop seamed to take forever, and at some point James remember thinking, 'man Ohio feels like Texas tonight.' James carried that line around for a while and although the song has nothing to do with that fateful drive, he crafted the idea into a classic Lynch song. The Last Honky Tonk, was written by a couple Nashville songwriters C.B. Cater and 'Doc' Shapiro. James first heard the song when he was recording Woods 'N Waters. During the mix down the engineer asked if James wanted to hear some recent work that he'd done. The song smoked and when the time came for this project James contacted the writers and asked if he could record it. The House Of Broken Hearts, has been described as Jimmy Buffet meets Marty Robbins. James felt the song needed a hint of Spanish and trumpets. For this he asked some mexican immigrants that he works with how to say the title in their native tongue. This spicy number is a great tune to close out a terrific album...Adios!!!
