Born and raised in New Orleans. IW describes himself as 'fortunate' enough to be raised in two housing projects at the same time, the St. Bernard and Calliope. His father was from the Calliope (B.W. Cooper) and his mother was from the St. Bernard projects. So, growing up, IW would divide his time between the two locations. IW considers his upbringing one of 'fortune' for various reasons, saying,'The things that I had experienced by the time I was 12 years old, were the things that motivated me to start putting my thoughts, and life expereinces on paper. My surroundings also served as a constant reminder of what I would be headed for if I couldn't visualize a brighter future for myself.' Growing up surrounded by poverty caused IW to view life in a very different light. 'I am thankful, for everyhing that I 've been through, and I am very happy with where I'm at.' IW says that he is confident that the music he offers has the ability to change the world. Stating that, the truth, is 'Undeniable.' 'Everything has a time and a place. If I sit and wait patiently, my time will be straight. When I put it down, you feel me whole heartedly or kinda relate, I'll let you know the time of the day.' -IW Notes: *IW was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 25, 1981 to Janice Joseph. *His father, Cornell 'Doochie' Hunter was murdered in the Calliope Projects in 1984. * Graduated from McMain High School (New Orleans) in 1999. * Graduated from Louisiana State University in December of 2004. * Has taught middle school English in Baton Rouge, LA. since July of 2005. *Life long football fan (New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers die-hard).
