Although she accomplished 10 years worth of classical vocal training, Ivory grew up in a family that listened predominantly to jazz, rounded out by a myriad of other music genres. Those far-reaching roots can be heard in the music she produces/composes, writes, records and performs all over the city today. Her music -a mix of Soul, Jazz, R&B and Hip Hop- has been affectionately dubbed "fusion". Ivory has been performing independently and with numerous bands since 2001 and has appeared at multiple venues across the G.T.A such as Mel Lastman Square ("Beats not Bullets") The Mod Club ( II CMP anniversary show), The Opera House, Isabel Bader Theatre, The Harbourfront Centre (UMAC Showcase) and The Drake Hotel, with repeat performances at The Pilot Tavern (quarterly, Sunday Jazz series), The Rex, Suba Lounge, China Doll, Bola Lounge, Zemra Lounge, Spice Bistro, Lobby, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre, Savannah Lounge, Goodhandy's and The Gladstone Hotel. She has performed abroad in the U.S., Cuba and Jamaica. Her music has hit number 1 on Project Bounce (CIUT), and has seen rotation on Flow 93.5, 88.1 and 89.5. As an independent recording artist, Ivory is not signed to a record label at this time. She has collaborated with many underground Toronto artists, including 4DB, Alcatraz, Blind Psyence, Cadence, Code Red Militia, Empire, Jason Dinetz, Rich Kidd, Junia T of Smash Brovaz and Yello of Trackmurdera Ent. Ivory was featured on a Top 10 hit on the Canadian Urban music charts in 2007 with 'Be Honest' by Empire, produced by Boy1da. She has had subsequent local hits with singles such as 'Gotta Stop' and 'Cryin'' co-produced with Trackmurdera Ent. In Fall/Winter 2009, a newly orchestrated album, Satisfy Ambition, was recorded at Massive Sound Studios in Toronto. Mixed and mastered by Toronto heavyweight engineers Aliby and JBC, the album includes the hit singles 'Cryin' (produced by Trackmurdera ent.) and 'Forgot' (produced by DJ Shemca), and was released independently in Winter 2010.
