La Luna y El Sol
Israel Rae was born of immigrant parents from Mexico and grew up in the Southwest United States. He began to learn acoustic guitar at a very young age. His music was largely influenced by hard rock bands and later with classical guitar training in college, his style of playing developed further. His cultural roots and his love for the outdoors also helped develop his approach to music. In the mid 80's, Israel moved to Santa Barbara California where he released his first Album "The Return." The instrumental album went largely unnoticed but musicians and artist seemed to gravitate to his creative styles. He played mostly in small clubs, wineries, and art galleries. He has spent most of his professional career in the corporate world and most recently in the college and university environments. In a way he became a musical recluse and focused on composing volumes of music. His new album "La Luna Y El Sol" is an all acoustic project that delivers driving rhythms to intricate melodies all intertwined to form a style that brings together rock, jazz, classical, Latin, and folk into works of music that transcends itself into a journey and tells you a story.
