Into Asylum is the solo project of Allison Gretsuk, a multi-talented female musician hailing from New Jersey. The songs are written from the ground up, focusing on emotions to create relatable, brooding tracks that both meander and draw you in. From catchy rock songs to explosive loosely-structured tracks, the EP has both diversity and cohesiveness. Gretsuk is influenced by a wide range of artists, from Nine Inch Nails and Dredg to Fiona Apple and Amanda Palmer. Gretsuk takes her experience working with other live bands as a bassist and keyboardist to finally release her debut solo project with the help of her collaborators. From beginning to end, the EP shows both strength and vulnerability throughout the music and lyrics, accented by melancholy vocal delivery, dirty guitars, and hard-hitting percussive style.
