Get Thee Behind Me
This Album was recorded mostly live with some over dubbing. Essentially the band was made up during the recording with friends and associates that decided to help out at the last minute. Some of the members had never even heard the songs played until a few minutes before recording. This adds to the intensity and raw emotional aspect of the sound. It is intentionally an unpolished rough theatre style that adds an authenticity to what you hear. It was recorded at the SAE institute, Byron Bay, Australia. Holy Voodoo is a band that works as an ever changing molten conceptual organisation. The centre of gravity is Dean Love the lead singer and song writer of the band. The rest of the musicians come and go according to their availability. On this album Dean love was joined by Anando Bharti, Matt Love and Lily L'amour. This is not an album for everyone, but the people that enjoy the works of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, the Pogues or Nick Cave will probably find this album well worth the listen.
