***If you are going to buy a High Pink Clouds CD, this is the best one!!!*** There was a very limited budget for the first High Pink Clouds CD. It was an experiment in multitrack recording. Everything was recorded using this signal path: instrument condenser mic mixer computer (Windows 98 SE, CoolEdit 2.0 and SoundForge). Recent sound processing was accomplished on an XP system running the same software. The recordings as they appeared on the first High Pink Clouds CD were the result of this first attempt at recording using a computer. My attitude upon completing those recordings was that I wished I could correct certain things, improve others, but that was the best I could do on this. I also used some effects that I thought sounded clever at the time, but became irritating after repeated listenings. Having not heard the CD in a couple of years, I listened to it in March of 2011, and realized that the parts of the recording that made me cringe could be corrected without too much expenditure of time. I also found other recordings from 2005 - 2007 to tinker with, and some of them are on Sabkha Remix. I decided to publish this material again because firstly, it sounds better. And secondly, because I imagine that the first issue of the High Pink Clouds material has pretty much been forgotten or discarded by the few people that purchased copies of the CD or downloads of individual songs. Here is a list of the tracks on the new CD, and a short description of how (or if) they are different from the initial tracks on the first CD.
