Hello Mr. Radio
When I set out to make this album, I was caught between newly discovering some great Brit-Pop bands, and re-discovering some of the lush art-rock of the 70's. The echoes in my head were equal parts ELO, Queen, and Pink Floyd; along with Oasis, The Devlins, World Party, and Travis. I wanted to try to capture nuances of both, as if those bands of the 70's were still vital on the new music scene today. With constant inspiration from producers like Jeff Lynne, Roy Thomas Baker, and Bob Ezrin, I set out to create something as large, and dynamic as an ELO record, with the intimacy and personal experience of a Coldplay album. And for a little extra fun, how about a cover of K.C. and The Sunshine Band's 'Boogie Shoes' done in the style of ELO's 'Don't Bring Me Down'. Please enjoy... More to come...
