It started out with just Joe and an acoustic guitar, but that didn't last long because it was boring. So Joe talked to Bill Homeyer about playing some slamming drums, which he did do. Then they added bass and a bit of screaming and it was finished. A lot of these songs have some fingerpicking going on. It's not bluegrass or hillbilly stuff - it's just Joe using his fingers a lot, in a way that wouldn't have worked so well on an electric guitar. Check out 'Song For The Next War' or 'No Help Coming.' He wanted to mix fingerpicking with rock and punk. This isn't pop music. The songs are short, fast, raw, and real. If you like it, that's great. If you don't, that's fine. Happy Joe.
