In January of 2011, Washington DC's punk rock/reggae trio Groundscore returned to the Magpie Cage Studio in Baltimore, MD with producer J. Robbins to create their much anticipated second full-length album ' Speed Kills'. The album is 17 tracks that explores a plethora of dynamic music styles and employs a variety of tempo changes to create an exciting mix of Rock, Reggae, Punk, Psychedelic and other styles. 'Speed Kills' is the perfect follow up to the bands highly acclaimed debut 'Healthy Children'. Continuing to stay committed to creating honest and simple songs that convey the groups philosophies on life, love, friendship, depression and existence, this album shows a clear growth in songwriting and an obvious maturity in the material. Most of the album was recorded using a 1980's 2' tape machine that gives the record a warmer and more integrated sound. This record also employs the talents of many fine musicians from across the Mid-Atlantic region. Including a six minute drum extravaganza featuring Jean-Paul Gaster from Clutch. This album is a must here for fans of Reggae Rock and Punk Rock fans. Enjoy!
