Winds of Healing
This album contains songs written and arranged by me in the Native American style. They represent members of my family and scenes from my life and faith. Seven flutes were used: Five high Spirits flutes: Condor (key of D) Golden Eagle (key of F#) Sparrowhawk (six hole walnut, key of A), Sparrowhawk (five hole key of A) Double Kestrel (key of A), as well as a Navajo made flute (202 by A. Begay) and a Lenape River Cane flute, made by G. W. Burton. The original recording was made at The Lodge Recording Studio, Indianapolis, Indiana, Corey Miller was the recording engineer. Gordon W. Burton is a minister ordained in the United Methodist Church in Indiana, working currently as a chaplain at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He is a Certified Music Practioner, using his Native American Flute music and also playing the Mountain Dulcimer therapeutically for hospice patients, chronic pain and anxiety patients, and more generally for meditation and relaxation. Gordon lives with his wife, Cami, their three dogs (Mollie, Myles, and Chyna) and two bearded dragons (Alia and Duncan) in a historic restoration neighborhood near downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.
