Solo Recording Artist / Writer / Producer and Self taught Guitarist I've been pickin'on the Guitar since the age of 12 and recently picked up the art of recording and producing music in my home studio. Born in 1961 I started playing when my older brother Anthony brought home an acoustic guitar, hoping he would be the next Robin Trower. I would play his guitar while he was out with his friends, much to his disliking of course, sometimes with only two strings. You'd be surpised you can hit a good power chord with only two strings. I learned to play Guitar by playing along with LP's and cassette tapes, picking up the needle and hitting the rewind button over and over just to learn the fiery guitar licks of my 70's guitar heroes. Where was the computer back then? In the early 70's I was exploring all types of Rock from Southern Blues to psychedelic rock, and also the good rock n roll that was playing on the San Antonio AM radio airwaves. The music of the 70's is still near and dear to my heart and to me will never be forgotten. My original passion was to become a cartoonist and I've been known to pick up a paint brush and pencil once in a while. I spent countless hours during the 70's drawing crazy cartoon characters and doodles and even dabbled with a few mountain landscapes. During the design phase of my CD I decided to include some of my artwork on the cover. My new CD contains an interesting mix of Progressive Blues Rock with a hint of some Rockin' Jazz. A mixture of all my rock influences mixed with my own style of Rock Guitar Riffs. Hope you enjoy rockin' to my new music. George Martinez.
