Guitarist/bassist George Kerby began performing at age fifteen when he teamed with high school classmate, and future Brainstorm funk and jazz virtuoso guitarist Gerald Kent to form a band. Since then, he has performed with such diverse artists as: Muruga Booker (percussion: P-Funk, Wayne Shorter, Merle Saunders, Jerry Garcia) Alex Carlin (guitar/keys: Psycotic Pineapple) Frank Isola (drums: Charlie Parker,Stan Getz, Gerry Mulligan) Wayne Hartman (pedal steel: Afghan Whigs) Bobo Jenkins (blues pioneer) Ralph Koziarski (reeds/percussion) Ted Lucas (The Original Detroit raga rocker) Juanita McCray (blues diva) Alesia Panajota (West Coast vocalist/recording artist) Mack Pitt (saxophone: Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw) Perry Robinson (clarinetist/composer: Archie Shepp, Charlie Haden, Pete Seeger) Badal Roy (tabla master: John McLaughlin, Miles Davis, Yoko Ono) Peter Madcat Ruth (Grammy Award-winning harmonica player) For this project, George steps up to the microphone to sing a series of tightly-crafted originals. He is joined by friends Muruga Booker, Peter Madcat Ruth, longtime colleague Keith Buchanan, and more. Also featured is a rare LIVE track by The Ghost Band, a Detroit underground institution.
