This album is the culmination of a life time dream for me. My brother asked me if I thought I'd ever sell enough c.d's to recover the cost of making it and I was able to answer quite truthfully that I don't care. Sure, I hope you buy the c.d. and enjoy it because I'd like to make another. I'm 67, 68 in June and have been writing songs for around 45 or 50 years. I've left notebooks all over the country but have managed to hang onto a few hundred of them. The problem is picking out twelve songs out of a pile to work on. All the musicians on the album are good friends and nobody got paid. Everyone did their thing out of love for music. I am blessed to have such friends. We are currently performing as Kelly Stand Bluegrass and are having a blast. My intention was to make a demo and hope that some real singer would come along and record one of the tracks. I still hope that but am really enjoying getting in front of a crowd and performing my own songs. What a rush The production, mixing recording and some arranging were all performed by Ken Anderson of Listen Here Records, West Townshend, Vermont. He, along with Rebecca Hall make up the celebrated Folk duo, Hungrytown (firstname.lastname@example.org). Rebecca.s back ground and harmony vocals, in my mind, raise the quality of the recording to a place I couldn't have achieved without their help. Thank you Ken and Becky! Anyway, enjoy, sing along and smile at strangers, Gene M.
